Biography:
Mr. Crabtree was born in 1955 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. When he
was five years old, he moved to the valley community of Wheatland,
California, which is a small town on Highway 65 between Roseville
and Marysville in Yuba County, California.
He
received a B.S. degree with honors in 1977 from the University of
California Berkeley in business administration with an emphasis
in accounting and finance. While in college, he was an Army ROTC
cadet, and he received the University Departmental Citation for
Military Science.
After
college, he returned to Tennessee and obtained his J.D. degree in
1980 from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Tennessee. He
was a reading and writing instructor while in law school and was
a student materials editor of the Tennessee Law Review.
From
1980 through 1983, Mr. Crabtree was a Captain in the United States
Army serving in the Judge Advocate General's Corp. While in the
Army, he served as defense counsel and trial counsel defending and
prosecuting soldiers at military courts marital.
Mr.
Crabtree returned to California receiving his LL.M. degree in taxation
from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific in 1984.
In the same year, he joined the law firm of Neumiller & Beardslee
in Stockton, California becoming a partner in 1989. In 1997, Mr.
Crabtree left Neumiller & Beardslee to become a founding partner
of the firm that is known today as Herum Crabtree Brown. Mr. Crabtree
is a certified specialist in taxation with the State Bar of California.
Mr.
Crabtree refers to himself as a business and real estate lawyer
with a specialty in estate planning. Mr. Crabtree is able to apply
his knowledge of taxation to assist his clients in their business
transactions. His clients tend to be small and medium size businesses
and high net worth individuals. He has an extensive background and
substantial experience representing agricultural, processing, manufacturing,
construction and medical oriented businesses. He has formed numerous
cooperatives and is familiar with the business and legal issues
that impact agricultural cooperatives.
Mr.
Crabtree has been an active member of his community. He is a member
of the Stockton Estate Planning Council and a past president of
the Kiwanis Club of Greater Lodi. He currently serves as a board
member of Lodi Memorial Hospital and the Lodi Grape Festival. He
is also a member of the Lodi Planning Commission.
