Biography:
Ric Asfar joined Herum Crabtree Brown as an associate attorney in 2006.
Mr. Asfar grew up in Queens, New York and graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in 1997. He earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Communications with a minor in Political Science from the City University of New York, Baruch College in 2002. He received his Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2006. While at McGeorge, he served as assistant comment editor for the Pacific McGeorge Global Business & Development Law Journal, president of the Student Bar Association and founder and president of the Entertainment Law Society and the McGeorge Runners' Club.
Mr. Asfar’s honors while at McGeorge include the Honors at Entrance designation, placement on the Dean’s Honor List from 2004-2006 and membership in the Roger J. Traynor Society. He also received the award for Outstanding Student Achievement at graduation.
Mr. Asfar gained a wide range of legal experience as a student at McGeorge. He has held internships with the legal department of a digital music distribution company, the Torts Division of the California Attorney General's Office and an entertainment law firm. During his third year of law school, Mr. Asfar worked as a law clerk for an insurance defense law firm and held a full-time externship with Judge Consuelo M. Callahan of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Asfar is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Joaquin County Bar Association, the Consuelo M. Callahan Inn of Court and the McGeorge School of Law Board of Alumni. He is admitted to practice law in the State of California. His practice is focused on civil litigation.
